Wood:
Custom wood shutters
represent a large investment in the overall look of your home or office.
You want this look to last. While many woods will warp or crack, we start
with a select American Yellow Poplar, a member of the hardwood family. It
has a very close grain that holds color exceptionally well, most
importantly, as a hardwood it will not bleed sap like soft woods such as
pine. Woods that bleed sap can cause discoloration, wood swelling and warp age
characteristics which you would not want in your shutters. All wood used
in our shutters is of select grade only.

Construction:
The construction of the shutter is
very important to us considering we will provide you with a 10 year
guarantee. Our stiles and rails are double dowelled and glued, line fine
furniture, as well as this procedure we also pin the rail and the stile
together to afford additional strength. The louvre itself is held in place
by a nylon pin. These pins are used in our louvres to minimize friction.
Wood dowels used for the same function will expand and contract causing
louvres to stick or become loose over time. Our nylon pin also has a shim
built into it that keeps the end of the louvre away from the inside of the
stile.

Finishing:
All Cadillac Shutters are fully
hand sanded and finished on our own facility. We even do our own staining
and specialty finishes in house. The finish is one of the most important
features of the shutter. It is what you and everyone else will see and
touch. A superior finish demands "quality control", and the feel
of our finish will tell you how much attention and effort we put into
finishing your shutters.

Lead
Time....Get it when you expect it!!!
The shutter industry has a
reputation for long delivery times, usually from six to eight weeks. At
Cadillac our usual delivery time is three to four weeks, however during
peak periods of the year our delivery times may also be extended. At
Cadillac we strive to deliver our product to you within our delivery
promise. We can assure you of no extended waits beyond your expected
delivery date.

Installation:
Probably the most important, yet
most underrated aspect of custom shutters is the installation. Why spend a
lot of money for a well finished custom shutter if it ends up looking
inferior in your window. Proper installation of shutters is the key to
ensuring that your shutters look and fit the way they were built to fix.
An inexperienced installer can create a nightmare if he doesn't have the
proper skills. Carpentry and wood working skills are essential because
most windows are not level or square. At Cadillac only fully experienced ,
insured shutter installers are used to do our work.
